Netflix Offers “Just for Kids” Programming for PS3

Playstation 3 owners can now gain control over their kids tv program and movie choices with the Netflix “Just for Kids” option. Kids ages 12 and below, are sure to have a lineup of kid-friendly programming. Parents for sure, will heave a sigh of relief because they can be sure that their kids won’t be able to watch violence or sexually themed programs. Programs are shown in menu style. Rather than being descriptive in text, it shows a screenshot of the selection so even kids below the reading age can easily pick what they want to watch.

Netflix for Kids was already made available to PC, Mac, Nintendo Wii and Apple TV users, August last year. It Will be available to Xbox users soon as well.

Blackberry Playbook Keypad Set to Arrive in Stores in March 23

At last, the Blackberry Playbook, will now have it’s official keypad and it called the Mini Keyboard.

The Mini Keyboard is designed for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet and enables the user to Write emails, edit documents and surf the web, complete with left and right mouse clicks, just like a desktop and laptop computer. It also comes with convertible case, that lets you easily carry your PlayBook and keyboard together.

According to sources, it will start shipping on March 23 and will retail for $120. We still have to hear an official announcement from RIM, regarding the price and availability of the Mini Keyboard. It seems that you can already pre-order this new product from the online store, The Source.

Fujitsu Unveils Stylistic M350/CA2 Tablet

Fujitsu has announced a new tablet which is aimed at business owners. The Stylistic M350/CA2 tablet, a 7-inch, compact tablet that is ideal for business processes and can be useful as a mobile sales terminal, e-book reader or displaying digital catalogs in a store.

The device has a 1024 X 600 pixel WSVGA display and weights approximately 420g. It runs on Android OS and is capable of up to six hours of battery life.

Fujitsu Stylistic M350/CA2 will be out on the Japanese market mid-February, no word on a US release date yet.

Toshiba To Launch Android-Based Color eBook Reader

Japanese technology giant Toshiba is finally catching up with the e-book reader market and announced its first dedicated e-book reader, BookPlace DB50.

The BookPlace DB50, which was announced on Thursday, is a color e-book reader that runs on customized versions of Linux and Android Gingerbread. It has a 7-inch display and runs on Freescale i.MX535 (1.0GHz) CPU and has 8GB of memory. The device also supports Wi-Fi connectivity and has a direct access to BookPlace store, Toshiba’s very own e-book store.

Toshiba’s BookPlace DB50 will hit Japanese stores on February 10th and will be on sale for around $284.

Sony revealed its latest new addition to its palette of high-quality audio gears, the Walkman B170 series.

Walkman B170 Series, Sony’s latest offering is a small and chic portable MP3 player that weights only 28 grams. It has a quick-charge battery that boasts 18 hours of listening pleasure and a superb Bass Boost feature that promises a “rich, pumping low-end”.

No word on pricing or exact release date yet, but the Sony Walkman B170 series is expected to hit stores before the end of month.
