Netflix gives parents control over viewing options for kids ages 12 and below in Playstation 3

3 owners can now gain control over their kids tv program and movie choices with the “Just for Kids” option. Kids ages 12 and below, are sure to have a lineup of kid-friendly programming. Parents for sure, will heave a sigh of relief because they can be sure that their kids won’t be able to watch violence or sexually themed programs. Programs are shown in menu style. Rather than being descriptive in text, it shows a screenshot of the selection so even kids below the reading age can easily pick what they want to watch.

Netflix for Kids was already made available to PC, Mac, Wii and users, August last year. It Will be available to Xbox users soon as well.

Toshiba To Launch Android-Based Color eBook Reader

Toshiba steps up its e-book reader game with BookPlace DB50, a 7-inch color e-book reader.

Japanese technology giant is finally catching up with the e-book reader market and announced its first dedicated e-book reader, DB50.

The BookPlace DB50, which was announced on Thursday, is a color e-book reader that runs on customized versions of Linux and Gingerbread. It has a 7-inch display and runs on Freescale i.MX535 (1.0GHz) CPU and has 8GB of memory. The device also supports Wi-Fi connectivity and has a direct access to BookPlace store, Toshiba’s very own e-book store.

Toshiba’s BookPlace DB50 will hit Japanese stores on February 10th and will be on sale for around $284.
