Images and specs of Sony's soon to be announced mid-range smartphone surfaces online.

Greek technology and news blog, Techblog on Friday has posted photos of Sony’s latest addition to its Xperia lineup. The bulky, ICS powered mid-range smartphone, codenamed ST21i reveals a design that somewhat similar to its predecessors.

The leaked images and specs, which came from an anonymous source reveals a 3.2-inch, 480×320 display, 3-megapixel camera and packed with an 800MHz Qualcomm processor and 512MB built-in RAM.

Ice Cream Sandwich update for Google's Nexus S 4G surfaces, includes improved WiMAX performance.

Google’s Nexus S 4G got its first bite of Ice Cream Sandwich when mobile news blog BriefMobile posted a leaked copy of the Android 4.0.4 update.

BriefMobile on Sunday posted the leaked update file, complete with installation instructions. The update, which BriefMobile claims as ‘the full official IMM76D ICS ROM’, is said to include an improved WiMAX performance.

LG Optimus Vu Gets Official: 5-inch, LTE, 1.5 GHz Dual Core CPU

LG reveals a Galaxy Note rival, the 5-inch, 1.5 GHz dual core Optimus Vu.

LG has officially announced a rival to Samsung’s Galaxy Note, the 5-inch, LTE capable Optimus Vu. The device, which is said to ‘blurs the line between phone and tablet’, boasts a 5-inch (1024 X 768) IPS LCD display with 4:3 aspect ratio.

The pen-friendly smartphone is powered by 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 32GB memory, 2080mAh batter and an 8 MP camera. It has full LTE capability and will initially run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread while an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich is in the works.

Samsung’s rumored follow up to its sub-sized smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Mini, has just been spotted at Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The handset codenamed ‘Jena’, is said to be long rumored follow up to Samsung Galaxy Mini. The 3.3 inch handset, which is simply named Samsung Galaxy 2, is expected to run on Android 2.3 and ship with an 800MHz processor.

At Long Last, Verizon Reveals the Release Date of Motorola Droid 4

The long wait is over! Verizon confirms the release of the Droid 4 this week.

Droid 4, the QWERTY from Motorola, will hit Verizon stores on February 10. The handset is priced at $199.99 under a two-year contract.

Motorola refers to the Droid 4 as the “the thinnest and most powerful 4G QWERTY smartphone measuring at less than half an inch thin.” However, the phone is still powered by the 2.3.5 . An update to will be coming soon.

Other features of the Droid 4 include a 4-inch qHD display, 8MP camera and a 1.2 GHz processor. The phone unit has access to 4G coverage.

BlackBerry London gets a makeover, leaked image surfaces online.

RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry smartphone, codenamed BlackBerry ‘London’, has made another unscheduled appearance, this time revealing a black, curvy and more polished look.

Compared to the first images that surfaced on November, which appears to be a prototype of the device, this new image reveals a device that looks totally different from most BlackBerry smartphones. It has slick, all-black matte finish that looks similar to an iPhone.

No specifications or official release date for the device but it is rumored to run on a 1.5GHz TI OMAP dual-core CPU.
