Instagram for Android Hits 5 Million Downloads

The popular photo sharing app, Instagram, which was bought by Facebook for $ 1 billion yesterday, has released its Android version, just last week and has hit over 5 million downloads after its recent launch.

Instagram for Android Download, Now Available

Just last December, Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom, made an announcement that their working on making an android version of their popular photo sharing app. They also have opened a sign-up page last March, that allows Android loyalists  to be notified on when the long awaited “Instagram for Android” app will be released.

Well the long wait is over! Instagram for Android is now available for download. Android users can now get this app for free in Google Play, Google’s App store.
