U.S. Copyright Group: On the Hunt for BitTorrent Downloaders

Go and check your Downloads folder. Any chances you downloaded the movie the Expendables last year? If not, lucky you. But if you happen to download this film, start praying you’ll not be part of the 23,000 file sharers who will likely be sued for piracy. FYI, Expendables has become the largest illegal BitTorrent-downloading case in U.S. history.

U.S. Copyright Group are set to subpoena Internet companies to share the names of those who downloaded the action film through torrent. It was last year that the U.S. Copyright Group started the practice of filing cases against BitTorrent downloaders.

Subpoenas are bound to be released this week. This is only a small portion of the 140,000 BitTorrent downloaders who get free copies of B-rated and porn movies online.

Disney Introduces an Android Froyo Phone Despite Connection with Apple

Disney will be introducing a new mobile phone but it does not run on iOS. Everyone might think that since Apple's CEO Steve Jobs is one of the board of directors of Disney, the mobile phone will be well, iPhone.

Disney has decided to release a new smartphone in Japan and it’s not Apple. Even though everyone knows that Steve Jobs is one of the company’s board of directors, we are more surprised to know that the handset will be under the Android OS. The mobile phone will be running on Galapagos 003SH with a Disney-fied version of Froyo. It also comes with a Disney email address, exclusive content, and optional custom Disney-themed cases for users who wish to broadcast their loyalty to Mickey Mouse.

The device is expected to release next month but the price range is still unknown. However, it will only be available in Japan as of the moment. There’s also no schedule for an American release so the stateside Mickey Mouse fans will have to go to Japan to get one.

Sharp will Release 3D Android Phones in Japan

You are reading the title right. The hi-tech 3D phones are on its way to hit the market. Sharp is the first company to release versions of glasses-free handsets carrying Android OS.

The 3D phenomenon is really on the rise. This technology is now its to dominate mobile phones.  But it does not mean users have to wear 3D glasses while using your mobile phone. Sharp found a solution in two unique Android mobile phones —Galapagos 003SH and 005SH.

The mobile phones sport 1GHz Snapdragon CPUs, Android 2.2, and a 3.8-inch 3D-capable display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution. This marks the first 3D mobile phone in the industry. With large touch screens just like other Touch phones, these devices are capable of 3D.

Capcom announced the 3D release of Mega Man, Ghosts ‘n Goblins: Gold Knights, and Resident Evil: Degeneration for Android. These games will be tested via the Galapagos.

The 3D phone is coming to Japan’s Softbank by December while the other one on February 2011.
