Acer Iconia, the first ever dual-screen tablet finally hits the market

Tawainese PC company Acer, officially announced the availability of the Acer Iconia Touchbook, its dual-display 14-inch touchscreen notebook.
The Windows 7 based twin-tablet or Touchbook will hit the US and Canada next month, priced at $1,199.99 US, packing an Intel Core i5 processor, USB 3.0, HDMI, WiFi and a customized software suite.
The Acer Iconia is the world’s first double-screened tablet and is currently the only one in the category. Its two 14-inch screens made of Gorilla Glass that allow typing, multi-touch and gestures, with a five-megapixel (MP) rear camera and a 2-MP front-facing camera for video chat.

Acer unveiled it latest computing innovation, the Acer Iconia. This device takes the physical form of a 14-inch notebook, but eschews the keyboard for dual touchscreen. However, since the Acer Iconia is due to release on January 15 of next year, the hardware is likely to change. Still, it seems that Acer is working closely with Microsoft as Acer Iconia runs Windows 7 Home Premium.
