A malicious software poses a great threat to South Korean government websites. Is North Korea making a cyber attack on them?
According to an US report, hackers aims to attack almost 40 government and private websites in South Korea. Targets include the presidential office, foreign ministry, the national intelligence services and some big financial institutions.
During a computer system check last Thursday, South Korean IT firm – AhnLab – found a malicious software designed to attack websites. The firm immediately warned the target government sites, which some of them were experiencing brief slowdown without any damaged caused. The South Korean media have previously reported that North Korea runs an Internet Warfare Unit. It is set to hack US and South Korean military networks to gather information and disrupt service.
