Nexus 5 is reportedly set to be available in black and white models

Internet giant, Google is reportedly set to launch their new Nexus 5 phone this November 1st. This news came from popular Twitter account, @evleaks.

According to @evleaks, the Nexus 5 may be available in white and black versions. It was also reported to have 16 and 32GB models and is said to have a 4.95-inch 1080p display, a fast 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and LTE connectivity.

The price of the soon-to-be launched Nexus 5 is claimed to be sold for an introductory price of $349.

"Face Unlock" for Android unlocks your phone by just looking at it, instead of entering a passcode

Android 4.O, also known as Ice Cream Sandwich, offers Android users the “Face Unlock” option.

The “Face Unlock” is a new screen-lock option that lets users to unlock their Android devices with facial recognition. It takes advantage of  “the front-facing camera and state-of-the-art facial recognition technology to register a face during setup and then to recognize it again when unlocking the device.” All you have to do is hold your device in front of your face to unlock it, in case this does not work you can make use of a backup PIN or pattern.

Android’s latest platform, the Android 4.1 (Jellybean) requires users to blink before your Android device unlocks. It makes use of a special feature called the “Liveness Check” to make sure that static pictures can’t be used by someone else to unlock your device.

Facebook has launched App Center for your iOS and Android devices.

Facebook has officially launched its own application store, called App Center.

According to Facebook’s official announcement, the App Center showcases “more than 600 social apps, including Nike+ GPS, Ubisoft Ghost Recon Commander, Stitcher Radio, Draw Something, and Pinterest. You’ll only see high quality apps, based on user ratings and engagement.”

The App Center can be accessed on mobile via Facebook apps for iOS and Android, or by accessing Facebook.com.
