Apple’s A5 Chips Now Produced in Austin, Texas

No more overseas factories for the Apple A5 processor.
New reports are saying that Apple and other electronic companies are not anymore looking at the Far East for manufacturing of components instead processors are produced at the Samsung factory in Austin, Texas. The chip produced at this site is the one used for Apple’s products like the iPhone, iPod and iPad. The Samsung factory occupies 1.6 million square foot of land which is equal to three football fields. Initially, the factory does not manufacture non-memory chip but this was change to accommodate the A5 processor. On the other hand, Apple’s A6 processor will be produced by TSMC in Taiwan.
