Apple has officially released the New iPad in 25 new international locations last Friday, March 23. The following countries are: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

The latest Apple tablet is expected to sell well in these new locations just like it launching week when Apple sold over 3 million units.

New iPad More Expensive than its Predecessors

Apple’s next generation iPad’s parts is a lot more expensive than its predecessors iPad 2 and iPad 3G.

According to Wallstreet Journal’s calculations, the components for the new iPad with 4G costs $309 USD, $30 more than the iPad 2, which costs $276.27 and the original iPad 3G which totals $270.86. This can be attributed to its unique and new features like the retina display and 4G LTE.

The new iPad can be already bought in Apple retail stores in the U.S. and around the world.  Prices start at $499 for 16GB, $599 for 32GB, $699 for 64GB. And $629, $729, and $829 for 4G.

New iPad Has Improved Battery Life

Apple CEO Tim Cook showcased the new iPad’s improved battery capacity during its official unveiling, last March 7.

The next generation Apple slate is powered by a 11,666 mAh battery, which has a longer battery life, dramatically increasing the battery capacity by 70% , way better compared to the iPad 2. The new iPad with its new features like 4G LTE connectivity, a Retina display, and a powerful Apple A5X processor, indeed needs a bigger power source.

It’s so amazing that Apple was able to increase the battery capacity without increasing the weight or size of the batteries.  Consumers for sure, will expect to see a better battery life in the future versions of the iPhone, assuming that it will carry the same great features as the new iPad.

New Features of the Next Generation iPad Cited in Unveiling

Contrary to the rumors that the next generation iPad will be named the iPad2 or the iPad HD, Tim Cook has introduced it simply as “the New iPad”. Just when everyone expected for it to have a new name like the iPad 2 and other iPhone models, Apple has declined to give it a real name. A lot of peope were disappointed and confused on what to call the new Apple tablet. One user tweeted, “”So, just to confirm: Apple created a new iPad, declined to give it a real name and barely changed it from the last one? No thanks.”

Samsung Files Another Case Against Apple in South Korea

The war between Samsung and Apple is never ending. To add fuel to their ongoing battle, Samsung Electronics Co has filed another lawsuit against Apple in a court in Seoul, Korea. Samsung claims that Apple has infringed patents on data display, user interface and short text messages. These two giants have filed over 30 cases in 10 different countries and it looks like its not gonna end anytime soon.

It’s not new for Apple’s yet-to-be launched products, to have leaked pictures pop up in the internet, weeks ahead before its official unveiling. The “iPad 3″ or the “iPad HD”, whatever will be launched tomorrow, has images of its so-called prototype parts making rounds in the web.

Sony PS Vita Sales Reaches 1.2 Million

Just over two months after its Japan release, Sony’s latest portable entertainment system seems to be doing quite well and has already sold ‘over 1.2 Million units worldwide’.

Sony announced the news on Tuesday that the 1.2 Million mark was surpassed on February 26th, just a couple of days after its official February 22 release date. The company also announced that it has sold more than two million software titles from both retail stores and on the PlayStation Network.
