Marvell’s Armada: Powering up a Game Console?

Marvell co-founder Sehat Sutardja revealed recently that Marvell silicon will give power to Nintendo 3DS. It has been a series of teasing from Marvell for potential processors. And yet we are wanting to see ARMADA soon.

“Approximately 15% of the sequential increase [in quarterly sales] was due to the initial production revenue from our ARMADA application processors, primarily as a result of a major customer preparing to launch a new gaming platform,” he snitched a little hint to investors in a conference last week. This translates to “We’ve hit a big shot of processors for a new game console.”

There’s no specific console yet, but we are thinking of Sony’s PSP and Nintendo’s 3DS so we decided to embark them. Well try not to act surprised when there is a quad-core Armada 600 in your hands.
