How huge is huge? It is a tax break worth $1.9 billion.

The Australian video game industry is going through a recession over the past years and it is evident on the declining workforce and closing of major game development studios since 2008.

And the light at the end of the tunnel appears. Australian state officials passed a bill that will give $1.9 billion tax break for game developers to be allotted on research and development.

It’s a great thing political leaders have the initiative to create solutions in order to save a dying industry. The bill might possibly take effect next week.
