The iFlow Reader Shuts Down

Last February, Apple announced a new subscription service for all publishers of content-based apps. This system takes 30% subscription fee for the company, making bloggers, publishers and mainstream media to call them everything from greedy to anti-competitive. For iFlow Reader, this subscription method removes any profit margin that they have. As a result, they will be shutting down by the end of the month.

While other reactions were ambivalent, this situation paints a bleak picture for small retailers involved in eBook sales.
