Starfront: Collision's got everything we want in an RTS for the iPhone: StarCraft in an iPhone.
The RTS (real-time strategy) genre has pretty much been around for two decades, as games carrying the category went on a rise during mid 90s to early 2000s. With amazing titles such as WarCraft, Dune, Red Alert and of course StarCraft, alot of people thought that the genre would become big in the following years or even decades. But during the course of mid-2000s, RTS games began to lose its luster despite the rise of WarCraft III, with several gamers who lived that generation began shifting to the easier titles of social network gaming, to a more intense or content driven genres like FPS and MMORPGs.
The arrival of StarCraft II was definitely a saving grace for the genre as it revived a gamer’s lust for RTS action. And Gameloft took advantage of the uprise roaring across the gaming industry by concocting their own RTS, well we can’t exactly say it’s their own because it pretty much resembles Blizzard Entertainment’s StarCraft title. Though it’s definitely a great game for those who are looking for an alternative RTS title for their iPhones. This is Starfront: Collision.Read the rest of the article »

It looks like Blizzard really wants to challenge their players. First World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, and now Diablo III. Well, it's about time.
According to the official website, Diablo III will now have a more dynamic encounter system that might push players over the edge. It seems that the days where we simply hack-and-slash, drink potion, run, and range are over as Blizzard unveiled that monsters will be a little smarter, more difficult as players require different strategies to overcome the odds. However, the fun is still intact as they managed to maintain the accessibility, speed, and forward momentum that the series is known for.
One scenario was given where players will encounter a throng of enemies coming one after another even if the player hasn’t killed of the first wave. The situations will be so dire, players will think twice if they’ll want to use their last 3 potions.Read the rest of the article »
At long last! The wait is finally over. StarCraft II will be out in the market on July 27, 2010.
Wings of Liberty is the first of the three chapters set for StarCraft 2. The first chapter will focus on the Terran Race, while Heart of Swarm and Legacy of the Vold will focus on the Zerg and Protoss races. These chapters will be released separately at a later time. Wings of Liberty also features a full map-making and scripting tool set.
But one lack feature of this game is the absence of LAN support. Gamers can no longer connect with their buddies like they used to do on their local area network. You need to have an Internet connection and use Blizzard’s Battle.net system. This is not the first game to do such thing, but it is still disappointing especially to the “LAN Partiers”. Just hope that the ISP don’t have any issues with Blizzard or LAN will be dead meat.Read the rest of the article »
