Pentax unveiled their new camera system called Q -- the world's smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera.

Q, Pentax’s new camera system, aims to complete with Micro Four Thirds SLRs with its own Q-Mount lenses. The company revealed that it is the world’s lightest body for an interchangeable design that was constructed by using a magnesium alloy. But like the problem with any small DSLRs, the Q also don’t have an optical viewfinder. Hence, users of this SLR must rely on a three-inch LCD that have a 460,000 dot resolution with a viewing angle that is said to reach 170 degrees.

It also accommodates a 12.4 megapixel CMOS sensor and a backlit for a low-noise capture at high ISO levels. Q can shoot 1080p video at 30fps. The CMOS sensor also benefits from a sensor-shift stabilization that provides shake reduction with any lenses. Users can also shoot five frames per second with 1/2000 to 30 seconds shutter speeds. They can also choose from standard DSLR modes, with a customizable quick dial and bokeh control filter for digital alteration of depth-of-field in images.

Q body is also combined with a wide range of specialty lenses and users can also buy a shoe-mounted optical viewfinder. This new camera system will be available in black or white versions.
