As Apple reduces their orders of LED flash components from Philips, rumors are spreading that the company is in search for new LED camera flash suppliers for their iPhone 5.
Everlight Electronics, Edison Opto and Lite-On Technology – Taiwan based LED packaging firms – are said to be the potential suppliers of the upcoming Apple’s iPhone 5 dual-LED flash. Based on DigiTime’s report, Everlight and Lite-On have strengthened the distributions of their products in the smartphone market. Report also said that Edison, specializing in high power LEDs, started rolling out LED flash products to branded handset vendors.
Nowadays, Apple is reducing orders for Philips LED flash components. A sign that Apple will go with another supplier for the iPhone 5. A Source also said that the Asean LED packaging firm might be Apple’s new LED supplier.

Pentax unveiled their new camera system called Q -- the world's smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera.
Q, Pentax’s new camera system, aims to complete with Micro Four Thirds SLRs with its own Q-Mount lenses. The company revealed that it is the world’s lightest body for an interchangeable design that was constructed by using a magnesium alloy. But like the problem with any small DSLRs, the Q also don’t have an optical viewfinder. Hence, users of this SLR must rely on a three-inch LCD that have a 460,000 dot resolution with a viewing angle that is said to reach 170 degrees.
It also accommodates a 12.4 megapixel CMOS sensor and a backlit for a low-noise capture at high ISO levels. Q can shoot 1080p video at 30fps. The CMOS sensor also benefits from a sensor-shift stabilization that provides shake reduction with any lenses. Users can also shoot five frames per second with 1/2000 to 30 seconds shutter speeds. They can also choose from standard DSLR modes, with a customizable quick dial and bokeh control filter for digital alteration of depth-of-field in images.
Q body is also combined with a wide range of specialty lenses and users can also buy a shoe-mounted optical viewfinder. This new camera system will be available in black or white versions.
