Disney has decided to release a new smartphone in Japan and it’s not Apple. Even though everyone knows that Steve Jobs is one of the company’s board of directors, we are more surprised to know that the handset will be under the Android OS. The mobile phone will be running on Galapagos 003SH with a Disney-fied version of Froyo. It also comes with a Disney email address, exclusive content, and optional custom Disney-themed cases for users who wish to broadcast their loyalty to Mickey Mouse.
The device is expected to release next month but the price range is still unknown. However, it will only be available in Japan as of the moment. There’s also no schedule for an American release so the stateside Mickey Mouse fans will have to go to Japan to get one.View Article Source »
The first ever iAd for the iPad was launched today. The debut offering for the iAD is the Disney film Tron: Legacy. For now, this will be the only iAd to be released. More iAds will be launched next year.
Ad Age reported earlier that the first iAd on the iPad will debut today in the form of an ad campaign for the Disney film “Tron Legacy.” The film will debut on theaters this weekend. However, this will be the first and last iAd for 2010. Other iAds will be released next year. Designed to maximize the ad potential of Apple’s tablet, iAD will be launched widely in early 2011 when other ads start its release onto the platform.
Just like the iAds in iPod Touch and iPhone, the iPad iAd is rich with graphics, equipped with touch navigations and packed with video native apps. The full-screen “Tron” featured on several iPad apps like TV Guide will include a full 10-minute video, images from the movie, a theater locator with showing times and a preview of the soundtrack. The preview of the soundtrack was included for people to invite people to download it on iTunes. For the first time in the history of iAd, users can send email within the ad.Read the rest of the article »
