Let the sound of squealing fanboys begin as Final Fantasy VII's Aerith makes an appearance in Duodecim 012 Final Fantasy as a support character.
One of the most popular female characters in the Final Fantasy universe is going to make an appearance in the latest FF fighting crossover, Dissidia Duodecim : Final Fantasy. Aerith Gainsborough, the SPOILERdeadSPOILER heroine of Final Fantasy VII will once again be back in another Final Fantasy game. Don’t get your hopes too high up though, especially you fanboys, as reports confirm that Aerith will only be an assist character rather than a playable one.
Duodecim director Mitsunori Takahashi revealed in an interview with Famitsu that Aerith will somehow be more of a support support character, meaning that instead of using damaging spells and attacks, she will using several abilities that would put her main character at a huge advantage. One of the abilities mentioned is her “Hoshi no Shugo,” which makes her allies invincible for a moment. It's been leaked over at Jump Fiesta, but now it's official. Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy is set to be out on March 3, 2011 as the developers made the announcement today.
Yes ladies and gents of the video game world, less than 3 months from now we’ll be having the prequel/sequel of the highly anticipated, semi-fan serviced, crossover fighting game in our grasps. That means 3 months to go before Laguna Loire, Tifa Lockheart, Vann, and Lightning join the roster of our beloved Square Enix franchise.
No official word yet if the release date includes the Cosmos and Chaos limited edition PSP bundles. The game is priced at ¥6,090 and a downloadable version will be released simultaneously, priced ¥4,980.
No announcements have been made yet regarding its NA release, but we expect it to come around the following year.View Article Source »

At first, there was a leaked rumor that there might be a Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy somewhere. But today, Square Enix gave the official teaser site for the game we’ve been waiting for so long.
When you visit the site, you will see the logo with audio effects. Beneath the logo, the words “The story of defeat in approach of the final battle” is written. It is surely something to be excited about.
Square Enix also updated the Tokyo Game Show portal site saying that the game will be playable on the show. Tetsuya Nomura also hinted this on his Tweets last week.
The TGS page is showing tiny images of the game plus introducing characters. The sequel to the Dissidia Final Fantasy is due for PSP release in 2011.View Article Source »
