But don’t expect it too soon; it’ll be ready by Christmas time in 2012.

The release of Halo 4 was confirmed through a theatrical trailer shown at the end of Microsoft’s keynote in the 2011 E3 expo. Halo 4 will be the first output of 343 Industries (343i), after Bungie decided to call it quits after the release of Halo: Reach.

343i is currently engaged to many projects which include Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary which will be released by November.

President of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft, Don Mattrick, mentioned that the new version of the game is the start of a new trilogy and therefore the return of the Master Chief will follow.

So, what’s next after Wii?

Nintendo just confirmed that there is something upcoming after its popular Wii gaming console, and it’s coming to that market next year.

The sales of Wiis consoles has decreased significantly as of 2010, with Nintendo selling only 15.1 million Wii units worldwide, compared to its previous sales of almost 90 million when the console was introduced in 2006.

According to a report by Mashable, the company also revealed its yearly financial results for 2010, marking a big drop in net profit — $825 million — which 66 percent less than in 2009.

Nintendo decided that this is a great time to announce the upcoming launch of a successor for Wii. The date of the launch is still undecided though, but the company gave its word to have a playable unit, and to provide more details and specifications with regards to the new Wii model at E3 Expo on the second week of June in Los Angeles.
