Samsung Galaxy S II Smartphone, Officially Reaches U.S Carriers

Samsung Galaxy S II variants, slated to be released in mid-September.

Samsung finally announced the arrival of its anticipated Galaxy S II smartphone to three of the largest US carriers: AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint.

The handset will still be featuring some of the internals of Galaxy S II. However, the release versions were not able to access 4G LTE networks. Instead, it will use the HSPA+ on AT&T and T-Mobile, Sprint’s WiMAX.

All models come with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, an 800 x 480 4.3-inch screen, 1GB of RAM, and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread skinned with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface. Samsung also confirmed that each Galaxy S II handset will be equipped with 16GB of storage (expandable up to 32GB), a microSD card, an 8.0MP rear facing camera with 1080p video recording support, and a 2.0MP front-facing camera.
