Samsung ships keyloggers with its new laptops? That can't be!

An article published at Network World claims that Samsung installs Microsoft Windows keylogger on its laptops by default. As written by Mohamed Hassan, the VIPRE Antivirus detected a StarLogger software on two Samsung laptops from different retailers.

In addition to this, Samsung support seems to confirm the allegation by saying that StarLogger is installed by default to monitor the machine’s performance and how it is used.

Samsung Tomorrow posted a statement to deny the claim. According to them, VIPRE mistook a folder, C:\WINDOWS\SL, as a keylogger software. More over, F-Secure said that the company hasn’t seen any kind of peak of StarLogger reports. That said, new laptops from Samsung are actually safe.
