Folks at XDA Developers have compiled a booting version of Android 4.03 for the Galaxy Tab 8.9.

Not long after Samsung confirmed its plans to roll-out Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to other devices, some innovative folks from XDA forums have already tried it on their beloved Galaxy Tab 8.9.

Recent updates shows that the homebrew ICS build for Galaxy Tab 8.9 is now bootable and has its touch screen, auto-rotation feature, sound, Bluetooth, Wifi and Hardware acceleration (tested on Angry Birds) working.

Samsung unveiled the price and specs of their upcoming Galaxy Tab 8.9. Check them out!

Samsung recently unveiled all the official specs of their Galaxy Tab 8.9 that is expected to arrive in Best Buy stores this Thurday. The dedicated web page shows that its 16GB Wi-Fi model will cost around $469 as expected. The larger capacity, which is 32GB, will be at $569 per unit.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 makes an appearance at the CTIA 2011, and just like what most tech-savvy cultists out there expected: The Samsung tablet is coming with Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Sound the bells, because the first Honeycomb-powered tablet is coming!

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is going to roll out some fine-tuned interface under that Android Honeycomb. The tablet will have a Live Panel, which provides users with a fully customizable home screen with all the information he/she needs.
