World’s Last Typewriter Factory Shuts Down

Long live the Typewriter!
If you have a typewriter at your home or your mom or dad’s home, take a good look at it, because it may be the only one you’d be able to see. Godrej and Boyce, a small plant located in Mumbai and the very last typewriter factory in the world, has closed down due to the inevitable obvious: Computers.
People saw it coming. Ever since early 2000s, the demand for typewriters have been on a decline — thanks to personal computers. Though several typewriter factories relatively did well despite the rise of the digital age, in 2009, the industry came to a point where they are no longer needed.
