Let's try to forget about Apple's amazingly revamped MacBook Pro for a moment and take a glimpse of what's going on at Lenovo's backyard.

So what if Apple unveiled their new MacBook Pros? So what if they’re faster and technologically advanced than most laptops out there? All that matters is the right amount of CPU, RAM, battery power, and price right? Right? Well that seems to be the case with Lenovo as they sweeped through the euphoria of Apple’s latest spawns and unleashed the specs of their latest Thinkpad X220.

Even though it’s not as visually pleasing as the MBPs, this hunky chunk of chips and wires still got what it takes to become your trusty laptop as it brings to the table up to 2.7GHz Core i7-2620QM CPU, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, a 1366 x 768 IPS display, and 9-cell battery that will give you 15 hours of hardcore computing. An additional external battery pack is also available that will give you a total of 23-effin-hours of nonstop battery life.

Sony Buffs VAIO S Series with Core i5-2410M Processor and Radeon HD 6470M Graphics

Written on February 23, 2011 by Kristoff Jones

It's a perfect mix of style and functionality, though Sony could have been more creative in the naming department.

After the prototype that we’ve seen during the CES 2011, Sony has finally unveiled the revamped version of the VAIO S laptop series that gives more power with its Core i5-2410M CPU plus the Radeon HD 6470M graphics. Sony described the series as a mobile PC that “packs greater stamina with less to carry.”

Although the specs are completely different from its predecessor, we’re just dumbfounded why Sony didn’t just rename the entire series instead of making one overlap the other. But in any case, the 13-inch, 3.9-pound, Windows 7 Professional OS-driven laptops are here struting all the right moves to the same target market of the previous VAIO S Series captured.

HTC is hungry for some tablet blood as it unleashes the Flyer into the tablet jungle. The 7-inch, 1.5GHz is a force to be reckoned with.

HTC has just dropped the bomb in the tablet arena as it unveils its new 7-inch Flyer Android tablet. It’s a force to be reckoned with as the 1.5GHz single-core CPU gives the ‘pow’ in power along with a 1GB of RAM plus 32GB of flash storage and Android Gingerbread 2.4. In addition to the above-mentioned specs, the Flyer has a pressure-sensitive capacitive stylus, which at first made us think that the tablet is named “HTC Scribe” when the name was floating about cyberspace. It turns out that the name is the name of the technology HTC is using which they call a “groundbreaking pen experience.”

The HTC Flyer is set for sail this Q2 2011. Check out the specs after the break!

Written on February 10, 2011 by Kristoff Jones

Thinking beyond wasn't as ambitious as we expected from HP/Palm, but the TouchPad webOS tablet still hits all the right spots, including Flash.

There’s nothing like the smell of a newly unveiled webOS tablet, and the smell that HP and Palm’s new TouchPad, which has just been unveiled at the ‘Think Beyond’ event, is certainly as sweet as the summer breeze. Possessing stellar features which empasizes more on the superiority of the interface rather than the hardware, the Touchpad looks like it’s ready to take on the tablet market by storm. We just have a little issue about its uniqueness against the apps-driven iOS and Android OS. Plus the entire hardware looks awfully like the iPad and other tablets available. But what’s good about the TouchPad is that it fully supports Flash (something Apple has been so hard-headed on), meaning it allows you to view videos around the web.
