According to the website, The Guardian, the British government will no longer make use of traditional paper documents in their UK courtrooms and instead will make use of tablets to store all forms and evidentiary items.

TouchPad available in the US by July 1st

TouchPad, HP’s WebOS 3.0-based tablet is coming to the U.S. on the first of July.

WebOS 3.0 features a precise notification system, as well as the ability to multitask with a card-based method to switch between open apps, group related tasks in a stack of cards, and tap apps off with a simple finger gesture.

This nifty gadget has a very competent dual-core 1.2 Ghz Snapdragon processor, 16 GB or 32 GB of storage, 1 GB of RAM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls.

The 16 GB version costs $499.99, while the 32 GB version will set you back $599.99.

HP Aims for Number One Plus

Better than the number one; and HP calls it number one plus.

HP is setting the standard for TouchPad so high that people might think now it is unattainable. In the recent press conference held in France, HP’s Eric Cador expressed his strong feelings that their latest tablet will be the best among the rest:

“In the PC world, with fewer ways of differentiating HP’s products from our competitors, we became number one; in the tablet world we’re going to become better than number one. We call it number one plus.”

The TouchPad is set to land in UK with apps created by Guardian, Sky and Last.fm. And there are thousands more apps to appear in the coming months. The spot HP is aiming for seems impossible but we can never conclude until we see the real thing.

The HP TouchPad and ASUS Eee Pad are soon coming out as they enter the battlefield dominated by a fruit.

There’s no stopping the Apple iPad 2 from dominating the tablet market once again, but perhaps the HP Touchpad and the ASUS Eee Pad could gather up some momentum before they make a release date. The HP Touchpad is slated for a June release while the much-hyped webOS for PC beta is set for the end of 2011; the ASUS Eee Pad on the other hand has just passed the FCC, brewing speculations that the tablet contender is out for a release really soon.
