Sprint 4G Hindered by Phone Shortages

Suppliers for Sprint phones can't keep up with consumer demands. The result: Sprint 4G phones are out of stock!

Sprint, the only US carrier with a 4G network, is having a good head start. The nation’s third largest carrier hopes that the network will give it an advantage in attracting more customers from their competitors. But potential sales are being limited due to phone shortages.

So far, Sprint has sold 300,000 units of its Evo 4G and the demands had been strong. However, HTC Corp., the Taiwanese company that makes the Evo for Sprint, can’t keep up with it. Now shipping of Evo 4G has been delayed without a specific date. Fortunately, Sprint’s 48.1 million wireless customers doesn’t break out.
