AT&T keeps up with the competition with a 21mbps download speed smartphone.

In a world full of 14.4Mbps 4G smartphone connections, one must stand out by simply upping up the speed-ante. And AT&T rises to the call as it unveils the Samsung Infuse 4G. The Samsung Infuse 4G banners its HSDPA Category 14, unlike the HSDPA Category 10 which is equipped to every other 4G smartphones, has a 21Mbps download speed. According to AT&T, the Infuse 4G supports HSUPA Category 6, bumping upload speeds to 5.76Mbps.

Real-world speeds have not been recorded yet, but Gadg is hoping it wouldn’t give false hopes like what T-Mobile did with their 42Mbps (HSPA+ Category 20) promise.
