Apple released an update that allows iTunes Movie Trailers to work with New iPad's Retina Display

After releasing an app that allows users to watch movie trailers from iTunes directly on your iPad, Apple has released a new update that lets you stream movies in the New iPad’s retina display.

You can really see the difference between the New iPad and the iPad 2. The 1024 x 768 screen of the iPad 2 is not capable of a full 720p display due to the aspect ratio. 1080p trailers can now be viewed in the third generation iPad, thanks to the new update.

New iPad owners can now enjoy watching free movie trailers in high definition.

Case-Mate: Accidentally Leaks iPhone 5 Design?

Written on September 16, 2011 by Adam Eve

Case-Mate is believed to leak the iPhone 5 design unintentionally with its now-gone products page.

Even before news sites were able to post the most recent buzz, Case-Mate pulled its web page which is said to showcase a number of iPhone 5 cases.

Replaced with a landing page, the now-removed product content looked like renders anyway. However, they were probably based on partly known specs. Thus, the cases offered styling cues that were taken from the iPad 2 and iPod Touch with a tapered back and thinner casing. Case-Mate’s removal of the product page suggests that it wasn’t posted intentionally, although it could be a ploy to get people to their landing page.

Apple is reported to announce the next iPhone in the coming weeks, while Case-Mate’s images were just the latest in the series of leaks concerning the next handset.

Atari Arcade Duo Powered Joystick for iPad 2

An update to Atari's app revealed several information regarding the Atari Arcade Duo Powered joystick.

An update to Atari’s Greatest Hits app unveiled early details of the second retro arcade gaming stick for the iPad to arrive soon. The Atari Arcade Duo Powered stick, which gets support in the update, recreates the analog buttons and feel similar to the iCade but exchanges some of its vintage feel for more flexibility. Instead of redeveloping a cabinet, it represents a simpler joystick and dock combo that enables users to freely swap out the iPad.

Some details – such as how the iPad and the dock will link up, its price and shipping date – still remain unclear. Atari may still be using bluetooth or a hidden dock connector that will keep the iPad powered, and let it sit in the cradle as long as the owner likes.

The iCade costs $99, and the simpler design of the Duo Powered stick could lower its practical costs.

Recently, the Regional Court of Dusseldorf in Germany allowed Apple to file a preliminary injunction against Samsung, barring it from selling and promoting the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in any European countries except for The Netherlands.

Apple is said to release its iPad 3 by Thanksgiving, while the iPad 2 will be discounted.

It was alleged that Apple will break its cycle of releasing one iPad per year, as the Cupertino-based company is set to unleash the iPad 3 this year. The next-gen iPad is said to feature high resolution Retina Display, and it was also rumored to be an “iPad Pro” model. The mentioned iPad Pro unit will compliment its predecessor – the iPad 2 – rather than replace it entirely.

Taiwan Economic News reported that Apple’s iPad 3 could launch at iPad 2’s current price, while the latter will be discounted. This will be done to clear the device’s stock inventory. The report also added that the third-generation Apple tablet will arrive at the shelves “by Thanksgiving or next year.”

However, speculations will remain as it is. That said, people will have to take these information as a grain of salt for the time being.

Amazon, to Use Two Finger Touch on Their Tablet

Written on July 26, 2011 by Lulu

Amazon will be cutting down the cost of their tablet, and it might include the sophistication of their touchscreen.

According to DigiTimes’ sources, the decision of Amazon to cut costs on their tablet might include the refinement of the touchscreen. An off-hand industry suggested that the Android tablet would be utilizing just two-finger multi-touch, and not the 10-finger touch devices like the iPad 2 and others.

Losing the more advanced multi-touch could render the device incompatible with those several Android apps that might require more than two fingers. Apple took advantage of having much more support by enabling three and four finger gestures, as well as support for more third party apps.
