Apple's component suppliers revealed that the company is prepping up the iPad 3 for a trial production by October.
Wall Street Journal reported that Apple has ordered key components – like display panels and chips – for the iPad 3, in hope to launch the device early next year. The next generation tablet is anticipated to sport a 2048 x 1536 high-resolution display.
Based on suppliers, Apple has placed orders for a 9.7-inch screen, and other smaller components have been shipped. Furthermore, one component supplier unveiled that the Cupertino-based company ordered parts for about 1.5 million iPad 3 units in Q4.

Apple pushes the release of iPad 3 devices not later than 2012.
Taiwan-based publication Digitimes reported recently that Apple has just canceled its iPad 3 supply schedule for the second quarter of the year, which means the next-generation iPad is unlikely to be available until 2012.
According to the source, the yield rate of a 9.7-inch panel with a Retina display resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 may be the main reason for the delay, since Apple’s other supply partners – Samsung Electronics and LG Display – have been unable to reach a good yield rate.Read the rest of the article »
Apple is said to release its iPad 3 by Thanksgiving, while the iPad 2 will be discounted.
It was alleged that Apple will break its cycle of releasing one iPad per year, as the Cupertino-based company is set to unleash the iPad 3 this year. The next-gen iPad is said to feature high resolution Retina Display, and it was also rumored to be an “iPad Pro” model. The mentioned iPad Pro unit will compliment its predecessor – the iPad 2 – rather than replace it entirely.
Taiwan Economic News reported that Apple’s iPad 3 could launch at iPad 2’s current price, while the latter will be discounted. This will be done to clear the device’s stock inventory. The report also added that the third-generation Apple tablet will arrive at the shelves “by Thanksgiving or next year.”
However, speculations will remain as it is. That said, people will have to take these information as a grain of salt for the time being.View Article Source »
