Sony NGP Won’t Be Delayed After All

Looks like the Sony NGP is still set for a late 2011 release despite the massive earthquake and tsunami.
Bloomberg news reported earlier that the Sony Next Generation Portable, NGP or PSP2, will have its launch date delayed after last month’s earthquake and tsunami. Today, Sony Corp. refutes the claim, as they announced that it’s sticking with the original plan of launching the handheld console by late 2011.
Looks like the Sony NGP has made itself back to our Christmas wishlist.

From natural disaster to economic downturn, Japan's LCD suppliers shut down due to damages from last Friday's earthquake.
Following a treacherous 8.9 magnitude earthquake and tsunami last Friday in Japan, LCD providers Toshiba, Hitachi and Panasonic are reporting that they are closing down their LCD plants due to damages. Toshiba and Hitachi announced that they will halt assembly lines for around a month, while Panasonic, on the other hand, isn’t sure when it’s Chiba-based LCD plant will get back on its feet.

Konami and Level-5 join in the cavalry of gaming companies out to save Japan.
More and more gaming companies are starting to jump into the relief efforts for Friday’s earthquake and tsunami victims, and Japanese big shots – Konami and Level-5 – have recently expressed their sympathy and condolences along with a generous sum of support.
Konami pushes the bar even further by doing a Capcom as they will be shutting down external lights of their buildings to conserve electricity. Level-5 on the other hand will be donating Inazuma Eleven Mobile sales for the cause.
