Everlight Electronics, Edison Opto and Lite-On Technology – Taiwan based LED packaging firms – are said to be the potential suppliers of the upcoming Apple’s iPhone 5 dual-LED flash. Based on DigiTime’s report, Everlight and Lite-On have strengthened the distributions of their products in the smartphone market. Report also said that Edison, specializing in high power LEDs, started rolling out LED flash products to branded handset vendors.

Nowadays, Apple is reducing orders for Philips LED flash components. A sign that Apple will go with another supplier for the iPhone 5. A Source also said that the Asean LED packaging firm might be Apple’s new LED supplier.

Last year, Apple had started to use LED flash on their iPhone 4. As the company shops for a camera flash parts, they had chosen Philip’s Lumileds lighting sector to become their supplier six months before the release of Apple’s new product.
