Meet AT&T’s first Android-powered smartphone, to be available as part of the telecommunications company’s GoPhone prepaid service.
LG Thrive features a 3.2-inch 320×480 touch screen, a 600MHz processor, and a 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus. The smartphone also has Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth and 3G support, and ships with 160MB of internal memory expandable via SD memory cards up to 32GB.
The Android 2.2 device will retail for $179.99 and is expected to hit the market April 17. The LG thrive will require a GoPhone smartphone data package, which comes in 500MB, 100MB and 10MB, for $25, $15 and $5, respectively.
Aside from the LG Thrive prepaid, AT&T will offer a postpaid version of the smartphone, called the LG Phoenix, for $49.99, that will come with a two-year service agreement requirement.
