Nokia seems to shrink their N9 launch plans, as they include fewer countries which will get the said device than expected.
Despite the important marketing efforts Nokia has put behind its MeeGo flagship handset, the Nokia N9, the firm seems to be decreasing its launch plans to include fewer countries than expected. After announcing that there is no plan in bringing the N9 to the US or the UK, the said company also told MobiFlip that the device will not be heading to Germany, Austria or Switzerland either.
The said announcement casted doubt on Nokia’s launch plans for the N9, since the device is said to be released in a wider range of markets. It is unclear now how many and which countries will get the N9 through official channels — even though the Swedish page had provided a launch countdown.
For customers living in North America and who are willing to pay a premium for an unlocked N9, the said handset is expected to support AT&T and T-Mobile in the US along with several Canadian carriers.Read the rest of the article »
GADG summed up everything the Nokia N9 are packing.
If you’re in the search for a new smartphone, the upcoming N9 model from Nokia might just be the perfect choice for you. Slated for a release sometime this year, the N9 – also known as Nokia N9-00 – is a cool-looking handset with superb screen display and a fluidic body design.
Few of the phone’s features were first revealed during the Nokia Connection event that was held at Singapore. The company announced that the forthcoming device will be loaded with the new Meego OS, which is expected to give N9 a stronger edge over its competitors. It will also provide users with great fan support and millions of applications available in OVI store. Unlike other Android touch screen phones, the Nokia N9 is believed to have a much better user interface, making itself the future leader in the smartphone market.

Nokia's countdown on its Swedish N9 page hinted out the release of N9 smartphone on September.
Nokia’s Swedish N9 page started a countdown that gave away the timing for the MeeGo phone. The said smartphone was reportedly scheduled to arrive on September 23, which will be exactly 49 days as of Thursday. On previous months, several carriers said that the smartphone will be released in late September, but none of them has been confirmed by Nokia.
Its seems that N9 will not be released in other countries at the same time. Nokia sees Europe as one of its primary target, and suggested that it won’t likely make the N9 officially available in the US. With penta-band 3G, however, it fully supports AT&T and T-Mobile in the US, as well as most Canadian carriers.
The said countdown is considered a possible swan song for MeeGo, given the few phones planned and the switch to Windows Phone. It might be Nokia’s most advanced phone for some time with a unique button free, real multitasking interface, a 3.9-inch curved AMOLED screen, a very fast eight-megapixel camera, and Nokia’s first real NFC support in a smartphone. Versions will come with either 16GB or 64GB of storage.View Article Source »
