Innocent until proven guilty. Nintendo CEO answers the allegations against the newest 3D game console.

Nintendo issued a warning a few weeks after the reported danger of the 3D technology to children below six years old. During this weekend’s Nintendo World event, Nintendo had young children play demos in 2D and even asked the parents to stick a special sticker featuring the Toad character on their children.

Until now, here are still no concrete pieces of evidence or reported claims about the negative effects of 3D to kids.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Nintendo CEO Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata defended the rumors.

“They’re not meant to mean that game systems are dangerous. Rather, Nintendo hopes to give its customers adequate information and protect against lawsuits.” Iwata said.

Iwata mentioned that some specialist believed that extended viewing of 3D video has its own negative effects to children’s eye sight. But he did not tell who are these specialists.

The 3DS packaging will be printed with words indicating the possibility of negative impacts when played by children for long hours. Both the instruction manual and system packaging will contain such messages.

Nintendo 3DS Glitch: Short Battery Life

Written on January 11, 2011 by Charles Bass

The Nintendo 3DS craze is unstoppable. But it is not all about the mind-blowing features; a flaw about the 3DS was already discovered: short battery life.

Nintendo 3DS first adored the public at E3 and its impact to the public was just powerful. Nintendo released a few focal points about the device’s specifications but it was notable that the device has short battery life. Think about three to five hours of game play in 3D and five to eight hours on 2D.

In short, the game console is only playable when you’re not that bored or else you’ll feel disappointed once the device runs out of battery. Not a very good companion for long car rides or camps. It is unclear why Nintendo did not see this coming.

Surely, sooner or later there will be third party accessories that “might” enhance or increase the battery life of the device. Let’s just wait and see.
