Will We See PSP Games on the Sony NGP?

Will old PSP UMD titles see the light of day again once the Sony NGP comes around?

Sony has announced that it’s currently working with developers and publishers to release past UMD games on the PlayStation Store. Such a move would allow players to play PlayStation Portable titles to other consoles, such as the Sony NGP. Although the company has admitted that not all UMD titles may not be permitted for a re-release due to copyright issues.

Sony Unveils ‘PSP2′, Calls it the ‘NGP’ or Next Generation Portable

Looks like all those leaked pictures were fake after all. But here we are now as Sony unleashes its latest handheld creation: the PSP2... I mean the NGP or Next Generation Portable.

And so Sony spills the beans as they’ve finally unveiled the next generation of the PlayStation Portable (PSP) over at the Sony Tokyo Press Conference. Though not exactly calling it the ‘PSP2,’ the latest PlayStation Portable is codenamed the ‘NGP’ or the ‘Next Generation Portable.’

The handheld is packed with tons of features which Sony presented under five different concepts: ‘Revolutionary User Interface,’ ‘Social Connectivity,’ ‘Location-based Entertainment,’ ‘Convergence of Real’ and ‘Virtual or Augmented reality,’ and a ‘PlayStation Suite Compatibility.’

Rumored Official Sony PSP2 Photo Unleashed

It's pretty hard to believe that any photo that's leaked over the Internet is real, but certain websites claim that this PSP2 image may be legit.

Too good to be true? Probably. It’s just a matter of 2 days until Sony finally elaborates on their nextgen PlayStation Portable or “PSP2″ as fans would like to call it, but another photo surfaced in cyberspace via Kotaku where the website speculates that it came from Sony itself. And although the resolution speaks fan-photoshop, the professionalism of the layout and the peripherals, specs, and features that come with the console may be proof enough that this image is legit.

Nikkei: PSP 2 will Sport an OLED Touchscreen and 3G Service

Are we finally seeing the newest "PSP" and its "tablet-like" features?

Four more days to go and we’ll finally hear Sony’s revelation about the PSP2. To spice things up, there’s an intriguing leaked photo that shows the hardware of the new PSP. Japan’s reliable newspaper, Nikkei, reported that the handheld console will be sporting OLED touchscreen and 3G data from service provider, NTT DoCoMo.

The newspaper also reported that the screen will be larger and will be powered by new powerful silicon. Sony also mentioned the use of a new processor for the PSP2. Nikkei detailed a few notes about the PlayStation Phone. According to them, the PlayStation Phone will run on Google Android OS and will allow users to access non-game apps like video and scheduling services.
