PSP Vita Release Date, Moved to 2012 for US and Europe

Sony's PlayStation Vita will miss out the holiday shopping frenzy in US and Europe.

Finally, the timeline for the PlayStation Vita’s release date has been set. But if you’re living in US and Europe, perhaps you won’t like this announcement made by Sony.

Kazuo Hirai, Sony Corp. Executive Vice President, confirmed that the upcoming PSP successor will still hit the markets of Japan by the end of 2011, but won’t be available in U.S. and Europe until next year. Kazuo Hirai pointed out that this issue was not considered to be a “delay”. They just wanted to make sure that the system has been equipped with a wide array of HD titles the moment it launches.

Skype Logo Spotted on PlayStation Vita Launch in Brazil

Brazilian site GameGeneration noted the appearance of the Skype logo on a slide during a talk about the PlayStation Vita at a Sony “Key Account Meeting” in São Paulo. Along with the Skype logo are PSN, Wi-Fi and DLNA. This hints the availability of Skype in the newest PlayStation device.

This brought a bit of confusion since Skype is owned by Microsoft, Sony’s competitor. But who know where this thing will lead into since Microsoft mentioned before that it will still support Skype on non-Microsoft platforms.
