Samsung confirmed that they will use 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor for the T-Mobile version of Galaxy S II.
Samsung gave an answer on Twitter regarding the mystery of T-Mobile Galaxy S II’s processor. A social media spokesperson said it will be the 1.5GHz Snapdragon APQ8060, which is also used in the TouchPad 4G. Meanwhile, other Galaxy S II version uses Samsung’s own 1.2GHz Exynos chip so far.
However, it’s still unclear why the T-Mobile version will have one of Qualcomm’s chips even though it may have to do with network choices. T-Mobile’s need for the 1.700MHz band on its HSPA+ 3G, which might go to a rare 42Mbps, could have forced Samsung to change processors to get the frequency support they needed.
When the said device ships in – which is scheduled in mid to late October – the T-Mobile version may not be as fast in raw performance as the versions of AT&T and Sprint, but it could make up for this with faster data and a larger 4.5-inch screen. All Galaxy S II models has an eight-megapixel rear camera and a two-megapixel front camera.View Article Source »
