A report from TechCrunch stated that an Android Based "Yahoo Phone" is currently heading to the Japanese Market.
According to a report from TechCrunch, an Android based “Yahoo Phone” is said to be heading to the Japanese market where the company is reportedly dominating. The Android 2.3 device will be manufactured by Sharp, which is serving the Yahoo branded adaptation of the Aquos 009SH that was recently introduced. It is also said that SoftBank, Yahoo Japan’s largest shareholder, will be the exclusive carrier of the said device.
Yahoo-centric features will include a slew of apps like Yahoo Japan Home, Yahoo Japan Auctions, a calendar, dictionary and Yahoo Loco. Hardware features are reported to include a four-inch LCD along with qHD resolution, an 8 megapixel camera, digital TV turner and infrared transmitter.

Disney has decided to release a new smartphone in Japan and it’s not Apple. Even though everyone knows that Steve Jobs is one of the company’s board of directors, we are more surprised to know that the handset will be under the Android OS. The mobile phone will be running on Galapagos 003SH with a Disney-fied version of Froyo. It also comes with a Disney email address, exclusive content, and optional custom Disney-themed cases for users who wish to broadcast their loyalty to Mickey Mouse.

The 3D phenomenon is really on the rise. This technology is now its to dominate mobile phones. But it does not mean users have to wear 3D glasses while using your mobile phone. Sharp found a solution in two unique Android mobile phones —Galapagos 003SH and 005SH.
The mobile phones sport 1GHz Snapdragon CPUs, Android 2.2, and a 3.8-inch 3D-capable display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution. This marks the first 3D mobile phone in the industry. With large touch screens just like other Touch phones, these devices are capable of 3D.

After flopping out in its last venture for Microsoft, Sharp Corp is still making its way in creating smartphones. By the end of of 2010, the company will release a 3D enabling handset. Apple must brace itself for a new competitor.
Sharp Corp wants to take Apple’s iPhone down by the end of the year with a plan to launch a 3D smartphone internationally. According to a spokeswoman last Wednesday, the product will feature a 3D panel that can be viewed without special glasses. It will also likely to have a 3D capable camera. Last April, the company unveiled its 3D panel technology, which is suitable only for small screens.
Letting users view 3D images without glasses has been a roaming tech around for quite some time now. But Japan’s biggest mobile maker Sharp plays a small role in the smartphone market.
