Toshiba, for the second time around, encountered several issues and problems with regards to its recently launched tablet — the Thrive. The device’s owners have posted comments on the company’s forums, claiming that the tablet is suffering from serious bugs. Toshiba Thrive Honeycomb tablet gets an un-boxing on a silent video.
The Toshiba Thrive, which is due to launch on July 10, had been given an early unwrapping in a silent video. The device seems to be a bit thicker than its competitor. However, part of the reason why its thicker than others is that it holds a compartment for a replaceable battery which other tablets lack.
The device also retains all the standard Honeycomb tablet trimmings, aside from its replaceable battery. These include a NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. The Toshiba Thrive also has a HDMI and USB ports, and a micro SD slot.
Toshiba Thrive is available in a 16GB model retailing for $480 and 32GB model that is selling for $580. An 8GB version is also available, but in smaller quantities, for $430.
