Another member of the ‘do we really need yet another iOS dock?’ family was added, as Monster releases the Tron Light Disc iPod dock.

Fans of sci-fi movies are often the most technology-obsessed consumers existing. Hence, Monster is capitalizing on this by releasing the Tron Light Disc iPod dock. The iPod dock is inspired by the ‘identity disc’ seen in Tron: Legacy. It joins the family of iOS dock for audio devices, and costs £200.

The Tron Light Disc iPod dock features dual pipe lighting rings around it, Tron-themed icons embedded in a 3D motion menu screen, Tron 2.3 player, and a skinned alarm clock application. It supports the iPod Nano; first, second and third generation iPod Touch; and all existing iPhone models.

The first ever iAd for the iPad was launched today. The debut offering for the iAD is the Disney film Tron: Legacy. For now, this will be the only iAd to be released. More iAds will be launched next year.

Ad Age reported earlier that the first iAd on the iPad will debut today in the form of an ad campaign for the Disney film “Tron Legacy.” The film will debut on theaters this weekend. However, this will be the first and last iAd for 2010. Other iAds will be released next year. Designed to maximize the ad potential of Apple’s tablet, iAD will be launched widely in early 2011 when other ads start its release onto the platform.

Just like the iAds in iPod Touch and iPhone, the iPad iAd is rich with graphics, equipped with touch navigations and packed with video native apps. The full-screen “Tron” featured on several iPad apps like TV Guide will include a full 10-minute video, images from the movie, a theater locator with showing times and a preview of the soundtrack. The preview of the soundtrack was included for people to invite people to download it on iTunes. For the first time in the history of iAd, users can send email within the ad.
