Samsung Galaxy S II Upgrading to 1.2GHz, But Not Until May or June

Written on April 07, 2011 by Kristoff Jones

The galaxy has just gotten faster as Samsung unveils that the Galaxy S II will be getting a processor boost to 1.2GHZ.

Been holding out for a Samsung Galaxy S II? Well, looks like it finally paid off — sort of. There’s some good news and bad news. The good news is that Samsung has finally decided to upgrade the Galaxy S II’s dual core processor to 1.2GHz, up from 1GHz. The bad news is, we won’t see it until May or even June.

The report came from Samsung Estonia’s Facebook page, and has been confirmed by GSM Arena from an “internal source.” The one or two month delay remains a mystery, although some UK retailers have already unveiled that the Galaxy S II will make a debut on May 6th. Samsung India, on the other hand, has announced over at Twitter that the phone is set for a global launch later before June.

Looks like Samsung is upping the ante as it fortifies its dominance in the smartphone market.
