LG Optimus Sol Wrap-up: Specs, Price, Availability

“The Optimus Sol stands out from its competitors as the most affordable 1GHz Android smartphone with an AMOLED display." --- Dr. Jong-seok Park, CEO of LG
Once again, LG Electronics is set to release the latest addition to its Optimus smartphone series. The LG E720 Optimus Sol, formerly named as “Victor”, is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread-based handset that comes with a 3.8″ Ultra AMOLED display and 9.8mm thickness, making it one of the slimmest phones to hit the store shelves this year.
The manufacturer named it as “Sol” (Spanish term for “Sun”) not because it has something to do with a solar-powered phone, but because it has an AMOLED display which enables users to read the screen’s texts easily even under bright and sunny settings. Its display feature is capable of reducing the image quality degradation, and also brings out a two-fold advanced reflection rate. Another thing that LG Optimus Sol is heavily promoting is its new power saving technique, which decreases the use of white light for a longer battery life.
