Recent updates shows that the homebrew ICS build for Galaxy Tab 8.9 is now bootable and has its touch screen, auto-rotation feature, sound, Bluetooth, Wifi and Hardware acceleration (tested on Angry Birds) working.

A XDA Developers forum member found that the Android 2.3.4 update to the Xperia Play smartphone brought 720p video recording. The standard camera app will do this now, with continuous autofocus enabled.
Regarding the said update, a short sample video was uploaded to YouTube that you could check-out below. Before the said update, the handset’s highest video recording resolution was 720×480.
