Enjoy discussing everything under the sun with your Xbox LIVE buddies with Avatar Kinect.

Avatar Kinect and Kinect Sparkler is hitting Xbox Live via Kinect Fun Labs this week!

The Avatar Kinect captures facial expression and voice, allowing your avatar to imitate you whenever you laugh, cry, smile, speak or nod. It also enables users to invite up to seven friends in 24 various settings. Enjoy some comedy on the Performance Stage, discuss everything under the sun on the Talk Show Stage, or watch live sporting events at the Sports Party Page.

Furthermore, the Kinect sensor records and edits this session, which you can upload to KinectShare.com afterwards. Thus, users can download their Avatar Kinect activity on their computer, or share it via YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and many others.

This feature will available to Xbox LIVE Gold members for free, while the rest can have it for a zero-charge trial between July 25 to September 8.

Microsoft’s Keynote at E3 2011

Microsoft kicks off this year's E3 with new games, features and announcements.

Microsoft kicks off the E3 2011, announcing that Modern Warfare 3 is set to arrive this year. Next on the list is the unexpected demo of Tomb Raider, where Lara Croft finds herself trapped and escaped from the holding area, and navigating the dungeon filled with enemies and puzzles. After that is Cliff B of Epic Games, demonstrating the latest Gears of War 3 level.

Following the game demos, EA Sports, Ghost Recon Future Soldier and Mass Effect 3 announced their Kinect-ability. In addition to this, the Mass Effect 3 announced its Speech Recognition capabilities in Kinect, wherein gamers can give their squad basic commands and select conversation options using voice. Other Kinect titles that were revealed are Fable Journey, Disneyland Adventure, Minecraft and Forza 4 that is set for an October 11 release. Next in the Kinect game announcements is the FunLabs. The software was unveiled to scan real-life objects and people, and bring them into a virtual world.

Orcs Must Die Trap Trailer Released

Orcs Must Die lets you take out angry orcs all day long to defend your fortress using spells, weapons and various traps.

Ensemble Studios’ first game under its new company name – Robot Entertainment – is a third person strategic tower defense game entitled Orcs Must Die. The gameplay is very simple: A player must guard his fortress from hordes of angry orcs using spells, weapons and a lot of traps. The available traps vary from simple TNT to trip wires that releases swinging battle axes from the ceiling.

Set to hit the stores as a Xbox Live Arcade game this summer, Orcs Must Die looks like a bloody game with lots of action and well paced traps to shoo out orcs all day long.

Xbox.com Gets Revamps

Good news gamers! Xbox.com is now treading the path towards social media as it incorporates add ons that will allow friend and game requests.

Hey gamers! Starting Wednesday you’ll get to experience the tweaked Xbox.com. Microsoft just added a new design equipped with social features, avatar and the WP7 integration.

The core features will all be the same but the social experience is really unrelenting. Xbox.com now comes with unified inbox, friend requests and game requests. Plus, you can customize your avatar.

Microsoft is also putting new parental controls. The “Family Reports” will help you “understand what your family is doing and how they are using Live,” according to a blog post by Xbox Live bigwig Major Nelson.

But the most shocking revelation is the playable web games. Microsoft will support cross-support play between platforms Xbox, Windows Phone 7 and web users — a first for the platform.

On Improving Xbox Audio Quality

Expect polished audio from overhauled Xbox 360 headsets this Fall.

At the Edinburgh Interactive Festival yesterday afternoon, the head of Xbox Live Studios, Jerry Johnson, discussed how the refresh will upgrade the voice communication that gamers are using to interact with one another during online play. He said their focus will be on the gadget’s codec and audio infrastructure.

Windows Phone 7, the New Gaming Platform for Microsoft

Windows Phone 7 is not just a smartphone, it also a gaming platform. And it's not just an ordinary mobile game, it's from XBox Live! A XBox game title on your WP7? What more can you ask for?

Microsoft announced last Monday the first batch of XBox game that will be available for Windows Phone 7. Big Red is counting on games and the Xbox Live tie-in as the key selling point for WP7. This device will be the first product outside of the PC or the XBox to connect to XBox Live. The company is staffing up for a mobile game studio to gear up the phone. Among the titles they will release are Halo: Waypoint and Crackdown 2.

Microsoft Pulled the Plug for “1 vs 100”
