Hulu Plus for Xbox 360 might be Microsoft's move to capitalize on Sony's troublesome PSN crisis. But will it work?
We could speculate that this move is taking advantage of PSN’s (PlayStation Network) current crisis. But of course, that’s only a speculation. Either way, it looks like there’s no stopping Hulu from jumping into the Xbox 360, as a scan of OXM magazine reveals that Hulu Plus will be making its debut on the console this April 29.
According to the OXM magazine scan, the launch of Hulu Plus will be celebrated with a contest where prizes will be given away to random Hulu Plus users. The prizes include Beach Resort trips, free Xbox 360 bundles and Hulu Plus subscriptions. The contest will run from April 29 until May 30.
Microsoft has neither confirmed nor deny the report, but it would make sense if they’ll go all out with Xbox 360’s services now that PSN activities have been halted temporarily. But is this enough to bring Sony followers to the Xbox side? GADG’s guess is as good as yours, “No.” But we may be wrong.View Article Source »
The console wars begin anew as Nintendo Wii will most likely heat up the competition with their next generation home console.
With less than two months away until the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2011 kicks in to rock the video game industry, many people are already wondering what’s going to happen and what surprises are in store for our Xbox360s, PS3s, Nintendo 3DS, etc.
E3 has always been a mini-barometer on how gamers react to a gaming company’s platter. If one line is way longer than the other, that only means that company A is doing much better than company B. Sony, Ninendo and Microsoft have already given hints to what they’ll bring into the console wars during their more or less two hours of unadulterated attention, and it looks like we’ll be seeing more of what we already know, but let’s hope it won’t be a snoozefest.Read the rest of the article »
"All I can say for now is the main character for the new game will not be Siegfried. Keep it a secret!” --- Daishi Odashima, Namco Bandai Director
There hasn’t been any official buzz on what’s the latest with Namco Bandai’s new Soulcalibur game, but it seems director – Daishi Odashima – couldn’t help but spill a few information on what’s going to happen via tweets (Oh Twitter, what can we do without ye?). And from the looks of it, we’ll be having a new main character for the legendary fighting game. Buh-bye Siegfried.Read the rest of the article »
Looks like US President Obama should've invited Microsoft in his meeting with Facebook, Apple and Google CEOs after all.
If you think Steve Jobs and his Apple iPhone and iPad are the fastest selling devices in the world, then you thought wrong! According to the Guiness World Records 2011 Gamer’s Edition, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Kinect beats the Apple for the Fastest-Selling Consumer Electronics Device throne as it has successfully sold an average of 133,333 Kinect units per day between November 2010 and January 2011.Read the rest of the article »
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam's Operation Hastings map has been unleashed without Xbox 360 and PS3 players completing the required 69 million team actions. Is it a fail on the developer's part?
Despite the community challenge which required players to hit a total 69 million team actions (resupply, revive, heal, repair or spot teammates) under one platform, DICE has unlocked the fifth and final map of the Battlefield Vietnam expansion, Operation Hastings for the console players. Reports state that the sudden change of plans was DICE’s idea to “start this new year with a big of a bang as we ended it.”
PC gamers were able to reach the 69 million team action mark in a matter of days, while console players showed a little disinterest as they were only able to stack up to 34 and 46 million actions in the same time frame. This may be a move to spark a little more interest towards the console gamers.
Operation Hastings was available for download last December 18, 2010 for the PC and December 21, 2010 fo Xbox and PS3 players.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam is a first-person shooter, action game developed by EA Digital Illusions CE for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Dwell in the lands of Vietnam as you fight your way through another war where failure is not an option.

Although we did discuss before that video games actually improve real life skills, there are some rare instances where video games, particularly third or first person games can cause or trigger sicknesses.
I remember the first time I got my first video game related sickness, it was the time when I was playing a third-person game called Shrek (I was 10 back then, okay?) on my Playstation. Thanks to the low resolution and ugly motion controls, my head hurted like hell and had to stop and close my eyes for an hour until the pain drifted away. It did for a moment, but the headache continued later at night which made me retire for the day prematurely. There goes my Final Fantasy 9 grind.
Although we did discuss before that video games actually improve real life skills, there are some instances where video games, particularly third or first person games can cause or trigger sicknesses. There was a surge one time in America where the media blamed video games as a cause for children and adult’s epilepsy and seizures.Read the rest of the article »
The latest Tron movie has become a huge success in the box office as it salvages the franchise after a disappointing 1980's movie. Will the video game companion, Tron: Evolution, inherit the success the latest movie had or latest movie or will it falter and become another fail movie to video game scenario?
Tron: Evolution, a science fiction rpg video game developed by Disney Interactive Studios, is considered as the bridge between the 1980’s film to the recent Tron movie. The game exactly does serve its purpose as it expands the Tron universe by letting us understand what’s going on, but player involvement is minimal, sometimes unnecessary.Read the rest of the article »
Gadg got some drama from Lightning, and alot more from the old and new characters of Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy in this epic trailer. All you have to do is hit the play button.
Square Enix just unleashed their newest trailer for Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy. Lightning, Tifa, Kain, and other new characters join in the fray as the short clip somehow explains their purpose and motivation in siding with Cosmos. The trailer, which was first shown in Jump Fiesta 2011, also showed some sweet bits on how the Assists will work in the game. Moreover, Tifa and Cloud looked amazing when they were fighting Sephiroth together!

Some movie producers should be embarrassed once they see this epic, cinematic trailer that will blow the mind of anyone who lays their eyes upon it. Oh no, it ain't no movie. It's a video game.
Crysis 2 trailer is amazing. This impressive, futuristic 2-minute video just displayed how much effort people over at Crytex are exerting to deliver the world a masterpiece. I won’t be surprised if I would be sitting down and eating popcorn as I watch this thing like a movie. It’s an FPS game that everyone must be dying to have.
A stellar voice-over, detailed cinematography, and epic scriptwriting. The trailer has the making of a box-office success, too bad it’ll only be shown in television and not the big screen. Nevertheless, two flaming thumbs-up.
