Skype Rolls Out Video Calls for Selected Android Devices

Skype is giving out an updated version of its voice call app, as more Android devices acquires front-facing camera and Android 2.3.

Skype released an update of its Android app, which brings video calls to limited Android devices. The Skype video calls for Android will be available for Google Nexus S, HTC Desire S, Xperia Neo and Xperia Pro. But expect the list of compatible device to grow longer, as more smartphones are having front-facing camera and being updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Skype is following other companies, like Netflix and Hulu, in making previously unavailable apps accessible to limited devices. Check out the video after the break, to learn more about Skype’s new version of video calls for Android.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo, Available for Pre-order in Germany

Sony Ericsson's XPERIA Neo is now out for pre-order! But how long do people have to wait for its official release?

Sony Ericsson’s latest Android phone, the XPERIA Neo, is now available for pre-order at Amazon Germany. The handset costs €346, but can be purchased to a cheaper price from some online retailers.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo features a Snapdragon-powered Android 2.3, eight-megapixel camera, 480 x 854 pixels FWVGA screen, and a 720p video recording with continuous autofocus. However, there’s no solid release date posted yet. Even Sony Ericsson is vague about it too, saying March and late Q2 2011 as possible release dates.
